Quebec, Bill 62 and the objectivity of actually living here

There are a lot of great takes on Bill 62 out there — especially the articles that focus on the Islamophobia inherent in the legislation and the effect it will have on the Muslim community.

But there are also many takes that are contrived; ones that ask how it’s possible that a Liberal Party could be so racist, ones that assume that Quebec’s racism is somehow worse than everywhere else, ones that don’t appreciate how Bill 62 fits into the current constitutional limits set out by the Supreme Court of Canada.
